"THEMES & VARIATIONS" (clamshell measures approximately 4"w X 7"h X 1 1/2" d. It is a uniquely structured work feature some of my favorite flowers and wonderful poems by Kathleen Kirk.

A companion piece to this project is a portfolio of archival inkjet prints, 9 1/2" X 13", showing the full frame images used in the book. I have added one additional print...a second variation of the milkweed image.

The artist book I produced in 2019 is "THIS MOMENT...IN SARAH'S GARDEN". It is a handmade artist book, measuring 4 3/4" square. It includes an accordion bound book ((4 3/4"X70" fully opened), a soft-cover booklet, a seed packet (California Poppy), an art print and a case. There are 50 signed and numbered copies in the edition .

PANORAMIC TREE PORTRAITS is 4"X8" (8"X53" opened). It is a handmade artist book. A case is included. There were a total of 42 books made in three editions. Currently (11-28-19) 7 copies remain.

Individual prints of the trees and the horizontal panoramic photograph on the back are available. Sizes: 11"X17" ($136), 13"X19"($155), 17"x22"($200). Prices includes tax, but not shipping or handling. The prints are made using all archival materials.

ALONG THE MACKINAW RIVER
The second printing of Along The Mackinaw River measures 13"x11" and contains 50 pages. There are 39 ekphrastic poems contributed by 12 poets. It is an open edition.
The cost is $108.75 (Includes tax; shipping and handling are extra)

Fugue is a limited-edition (25 copies), handmade artist book by Bloomington-Normal professional photographer Ken Kashian and poet Kathleen Kirk. The subject of this work is the Weston Cemetery Prairie Nature Preserve, Weston Illinois. This 3.5-acre, high-quality remnant prairie represents one-hundredth of one percent of the Illinois’ (The Prairie State) original landscape. In addition to grave sites it contains no fewer than 71 native prairie plants.
This project is made up of multiple types of materials and structures. The custom-made clam shell (4” X 6 ½” X 1 ¾”) houses a “book” which is an origami inspired construction containing small cards illustrating 8 wildflowers on the front and a poem referencing each photograph on the reverse. This is a limited edition of 25 copies.
Another component of this project is a portfolio of art prints in an additional clam shell. The eight-9 ½ X 13” photographs are not all literal representations of wild flowers. With a many of them I have taken the liberty to make more abstract expressions of the original images.
Costs: Small clam shell with two books, $174 (tax included).
The large clam shell with eight 9 1/2" prints, $425 (tax included).
